In 1977, Eldridge started her promotions career at Casablanca Records where she worked in the Marketing division promoting such artists as Donna Summer and Cher. She later moved on to Elektra Entertainment as Director of National Publicity and Artist Development where she developed her public relations and vast media contacts.
After spending several years in corporate America, Eldridge knew she was destined for entrepreneurship and founded Orchid Communications, a full-service communications firm. With offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New Jersey along with a viable network of associates nationwide, Orchid’s roster of clients was culled from the major music and entertainment circle. They included Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the O’Jays, Ice T, En Vogue, and Yolanda Adams to name a few. Drawing on her knowledge from UCLA along with her astute business savvy, Orchid Communications expanded its services to target corporations thus rebranding the firm as Miles Ahead Entertainment.
MAE became a multi-media operation specializing in hands-on personalized marketing and public relations strategies developed to create the synergy that maximizes lasting product brand loyalty.
